Visitors are met with a bronze entry gate, marking arrival to the garden. The steel shingles are meant to weather, bringing a rich earthen color to the lines of the roof.

Kubota Garden has evolved over time, expanding and transitioning into a public garden. The Crew Quarters project positions a pair of structures around a courtyard for Seattle Parks and Recreation gardeners.

The courtyard contains areas for plant storage and serves as the stage for the annual plant sale. The primary building serves as a meeting room and offices for the garden staff.
