Mercer Island Residence

Seattle, WA

Stepping down a long slope to the shore of Lake Washington, a new house was built on an existing foundation.

A series of steel and wood trellises mark the entry to the house and provide a connection to the parking area. The roof expresses the natural slope of the site using a ‘butterfly’ roof that follows the site’s incline and turns up again at the water.
