Seattle Waterfront Park Restroom

Seattle, WA

Located between the Seattle Aquarium and the Great Wheel, this all-gender restroom serves locals and visitors across a new network of public spaces created by the comprehensive redevelopment of Seattle’s Central Waterfront.

Steel slatted screens and a polycarbonate roof play with texture, light and shadow on the building’s open-air shell, while the interior welcomes users with modern amenities and a clean, classic palette sprinkled with unexpected moments of color.

Visual connections are preserved between the restroom, Pier 58 playground, Fitzgerald Fountain, and promenade through the steel slats.

At dusk, the restroom provides a welcoming, lantern-like glow amidst the surrounding Waterfront Park landscape plantings, boardwalk, and promenade.
