Will’s education and practice spans multiple states and three different countries. He considers the ability to bring perspective to a project as one of his primary contributions to design and management. When not at work you might find him skiing with his family, sketching, or working on one of his eternally unfinished home improvement projects.
Born and raised in Seattle, Megan has a passion for the PNW and its natural and built environment. She got her BA in Architectural Studies from the UW and, after a 4-year hiatus, returned to graduate school at the University of Oregon to focus on sustainable, human-centric design. She loves to travel internationally whenever possible and wander the forests or mountains searching for furry friends.
Paul, a Seattle native, has practiced in the Seattle area for 35 years. He is passionate about design and always looks for creative ways to use design to realize the client's vision. Paul and his wife, both WSU graduates, have two grown children and live on a floating home in Portage Bay with their Golden Retriever, Dylan.
A graduate of WSU, D’neka has worked in residential, commercial and theatrical design for 15 years and is inspired by any creative adventure. Prior to joining HWA, she has been soaking up art, food and culture while living in New York City, Honolulu and most recently, Los Angeles. Returning to the PNW, D’neka is thrilled to be surrounded by water, vibrant nature, and less crazy drivers.
Bob is a founding principal of the firm, and has been involved in projects throughout the Pacific Northwest, British Columbia, and Hawaii. He especially enjoys collaborating with community groups and artists to create special places and structures for enjoying our parks and gardens.
Born and raised in Seattle, Jordan is happy to be back in his home city after living abroad in Taiwan and completing graduate studies in Vancouver, BC and Tokyo, Japan. In his work and study, Jordan enjoys exploring the intersection of people, animals, nature, and the built environment through design. Outside of work, Jordan enjoys visiting restaurants and markets, cooking, foraging, and all things food with his family and friends.
Brie's studies at WSU led her to HWA, sporting newly acquired skills in interior architecture, project management and construction. She is impassioned by conceptually powerful designs which place environmental and human health at the forefront. In her free time, Brie is immersed in nature documentaries and exotic travel vlogs, or catching up with friends & family.
Jim, a lifelong Seattle resident, is a UW graduate with degrees in both Urban Planning and Architecture. During his 40+ years of practice he has managed projects in 15 states, always striving to understand and fulfill every client’s goals within the parameters of budget and schedule. When not spoiling their grandchildren, he and his wife are avid tennis, golf, bowling, film and travel enthusiasts.
Originally from Okinawa, Japan, Tony is a UW graduate and has practiced in Seattle for 15 years. Prior to joining HWA, Tony worked in environmental graphic design, where his focus was in integrating graphics and architecture. In his spare time, Tony thwarts feline raid attempts by his cat, Kafka.
Lisa has been practicing accounting in the Greater Seattle area for eighteen years, and she brings a close attention to detail in her work. She is a proud graduate of Washington State University and a big fan of Cougar Football. Lisa and her husband have five children and live on the Eastside with their dog, a beloved mutt, adopted from the Humane Society.
Kenji joined HWA in 2013 after completing his studies in Canada and Japan. He has previous work experience in Vancouver before returning home to Seattle and enjoys collaborating with clients, artists and other designers. Kenji also likes to eat and test out new recipes with his wife, Rachael.
