Nordstrom Local Melrose is the first boutique designed to highlight Nordstrom’s extensive service offerings and provide access to the larger world of Nordstrom in an intimate neighborhood setting.
Combining convenience and style, the design concept was driven by the idea of a fashion designer’s studio, where the craft of fashion is revealed. Layers of architectural elements serve to highlight the various layers of Nordstrom services, while furnishings remain flexible to accommodate the rapidly evolving world of retail.
A steel screen, custom casework, and a highlighted Tailor Area provide structure for speedier services like Order Pick-up, Alterations and Trunk Club at the front of the store.
An existing decorative ceiling ‘cake’ and wood floor, along with a new work table and a custom juice and wine bar, highlight the more leisurely Personal Styling and Manicure services at the center of the store.
A private VIP room and a curated art selection from L.A. artists round out this funky, upscale shopping locale.
